Introduction:

We are seeking a friendly and outgoing Host to join our team at our busy restaurant. The Host will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and providing excellent customer service to ensure that our guests have a memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating them at their tables

• Manage reservations and waitlists using a computerized system

• Answer phone calls and respond to online inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• Assist with organizing and setting up private events

• Handle guest complaints and concerns with grace and professionalism

• Perform cleaning duties

• Help maintain a clean and organized dining room

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a host or in a customer service role is preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload

• Proficiency with computer systems and software, such as Microsoft Office and reservation management systems

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Job Responsibilities

·        Communicate with guests about when their food will be ready and any problems that may arise in a friendly and sincere manner.

·        Interact with other service and cooking staff to ensure speedy and effective operations so guests receive their food as quickly and accurately as possible.

·        Work with money on a daily basis, providing accurate change quickly and precisely while continuing to communicate cheerfully with the guests.

·        Handle food carefully and responsibly while serving guests their dishes.

·        Provide a friendly and caring experience for every guest that comes into the restaurant, upholding the restaurant’s hospitality standards.

·        Receive orders, guaranteeing accuracy of the order and help unload the shipment and put every product away correctly.

·        Prepare dishes in the kitchen for certain shifts as needed.

·        Train other employees in standard practices and procedures in a shadow-style training program.

Prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Chef 

• Assist with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
• Prepare food including cleaning and prepping the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
• Plate prepared foods based on chef's guidance
• Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
• Clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at the end of shifts
• Ensure the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations

• Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies
• Open and close the restaurant
• Hire, train new staff members
• Schedule shifts and assigning tables to service staff
• Resolve customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner
• Conduct payroll activities in an accurate, timely manner
• Ensure the restaurant adheres to health and safety regulations
• Record all income and expenses and ensuring that cash registers are balanced
• Perform all functions at the restaurant, including food preparation

QUALIFICATIONS

• ServSafe Management Certification
• BOH/FOH management experience
• Must have strong culinary skills, people skills and organization skills
• Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel)
• Proficient in the following restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, personnel management, and customer service
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must agree to background check
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
• Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, copiers, and other office equipment
